Dude, I dropped it about 3 years ago, got tired of reading posts like what mood someone's cat was in. Never looked back, life is still good. I figure anyone who wants to talk to me knows how to get in touch. Now I enjoy the anonymity.
Well, I guess we all have likes, dislikes, etc. I have friends all over the world & love being able to keep up with them on Facebook. I also have friends that could drive me nuts on Facebook but none of their shit shows up on my wall. I also have 3 boys that have never posted anything that could embarrass themselves or me even though they have been on it since their early teens. Guess I'm one of the lucky ones.
It definitely has its place and THAT is one. I hate FB but it's not because of the reasonble users like you/your family. It's the ones that think everyone cares to know every time they take a shit.
I dropped a co-worker off my FB friend's list a couple of years back because he used it like it was twitter. Very annoying. I kept getting messages on my phone every time he made a move.
