  1. So, did anyone have any questions for me about my Mamou Mardi Gras experience?

I can't quit thinking about it. It was like I was in a different country.
  2. Didn't I tell you that you would have a great time? I'm assuming that you did even with the less than great conditions. I don't really miss living in Louisiana but I sure as hell miss festival time. The crawfish festival in Breaux Bridge used to be my favorite before the screwed it all up by moving the whole got dam into the park. Now I think the boucherie is my favorite, perhaps followed by the boudin festival.

I also have a fond memory of jumping into the Delcambre canal to escape a fat ass cop who was chasing me. I may have been a few years shy of the legal drinking age and he knew it. Maybe walking around with an artillery shell (qt of bud) wasn't such a good idea. :)
  3. I've GOT to go to some of those festivals.
  4. If you have never been then yes, you are depriving yourslef of some of the best culture, food, music and all around good times that you will ever find. I will even join you since most of those are closer to my neck of the woods.
  5. bump.
  6. My beautiful young girlfriend asked someone in the Mamou Piggly Wiggly where Starbucks was.

    Poor poor soul.
  7. Lol! Looks like an awesome time.
  8. Martin, if you want to continue your rant, start a new thread and quit derailing this one. I deleted your last two off-topic posts and will continue to do so.
  9. The thing that struck me was that beads were frowned upon. NO ONE had any beads on. NO ONE.
  10. that does seem better than conventional mardi gras, beads are garbage
