Les seems to think he has three options on the goal line... Run the ball, slant, jump ball.... I've never seen a coach with such a limited playbook.

I don't think the play calling was much different, it was the OL blocking that made the play calling look much improved. When you call three runs up the middle for a total of 3 yards the play caller looks like an idiot. When you call three runs up the middle that net 15 yards he looks like a genius. Play calling still needs improvement as does QB play. but the blocking made all the difference in the world. Have to tip your hat to the much maligned OL.

Yea, people want to complain about no TD passes in the RED ZONE, but Mett really screwed the pooch on two different drives in that area.

Granted, one of them MIGHT have been a bad route by, I think it was Landry, but still. Mett left to much air under both...

The chances are there and like I said, it is clear it is a confidence thing right now.....

But damn, if you would have told me 258 rushing with this beat-up O'line............. Props to playing for LSU!!!!

Because he had excelled at every level he has ever played. It's a cold dash of water to such athletes when they reach a level where they find themselves very average.

Depends on what you are talking about. The 3 up the middle that I noticed most were directly related to setting up for an easy FG... Which gave us the lead....which was the correct calls.....

If you truly didn't notice different play calling, you WERE NOT paying attention.

Play calling had sc on their heels early. Was good to see. Then we kinda fell back into our old habits and ran on first down lots. But was working. We usually see more diverse on stuff on the opening drives in sec games.

Yeah but most fake it even when they know it. That's what cockiness usually means anyhow.

Jump ball shouldn't exist. The toss sweep to 42 is his favorite.

It is also clear Mett cannot throw a fade into the corner of an endzone.....

I am sure over 90% of fans were upset about the wasted timeout. At that time, my impression was that they were not too confident about punching it in when it was a short third and goal, with the knee jerk reaction of initially sending out the field goal team. If they had more gusto, would have tried to go for it, no doubt, like several seasons back.

What they really have to work on is getting over that psychological / superstitious hump and believe in themselves more. I really believe the way they were playing last night, they could have done it had it not been the premature start penalty.

Kudos for the O-line that stepped up for this big game. That was huge.

Mett needs to sharpen up on his passes several of which he overthrew.
