1. That is a pass that is actually pretty popular nowadays.. if you have a reciever that has a size advantage on a DB, and the wr has inside position on the DB, then you throw it inside and let the WR jump for it...

I did notice one thing that Matt Flynn does that gives him an advantage over JR... He drops back faster.. .that my not seem like much, but it is something that Peyton Manning does that helps the Indy offense... if you watch PM he pretty much sprints back in his drop back and sprints to the handoff point on a run... Flynn is pretty quick with this as well, whereas JR is very slow in his dropback, probably just as a result of his size... if you get through your 5 step drop a half a second faster, its an extra half second that you have to survey the field...
  2. His receivers were wide open. Was it because he read the defense correctly? I think this is a talent that some have better than others.

I'm didn't pay as much attention to this when JR was in, although this could be one of MF talents.
  3. Not disagreeing with you, but is Flynn actually covering ground faster in his drop back? Or is the fact that JR has legs like a giraffe, that his strides cover the same amount of ground, yet it just looks like he isn't going fast enough?
  4. I did appear that Flynn's passes were easier for the WR's to handle (i.e. they weren't thrown with as much force, but instead, thrown with more "touch"?).
  5. North Texas gave up, and also had SO many men in the box, b/c they didn't expect us to be funning and gunning with such a large lead
  6. Skip could have thrown a TD against the Green.
  7. suree he could. so why didn't YOU throw one? :dis:

Matt showed some touch on the ball.

  8. I just watched the replay and what was it 30-40 men in the box? :dis:

man they were playing the same pass defense they were in the first. watch it instead of guess at it. :dis:
  9. I was addressing a comment concerning Flynn's ability as a back-up. TD passes against the N. Texas defense are meaningless in judging his ability. Many times "touch" equals "interception" against quality defensive backs.
  10. Well for his first extended playing time I think M.Flynn looked great. I don't
care who the other team was he showed he can play some football.
If the unthinkable were to happen, I think we would not skip a beat with Matt
taking all the snaps.........well one or two skips but we would be ok...
