Is not a big fun party day with barbecues and crawfish boils. It is a somber day for remembering and honoring fallen soldiers. It is like Good Friday or Ash Wednesday. How many people are out there who demand respect for the flag and don't even pray for the families of those who died for others ??

There's a big difference between nationalism and true patriotism.

    Be a patriot.

I'm at our Memorial Weekend jam in the woods. We remember our veterans, but we also make great music for 4 days.

Great! No reason not to have fun while remembering our veterans. I'm boiling crawfish today and I'll be wishing my dad was here. He was a WWII navy veteran.
We watched LSU win the CWS together in his hospital room. He took a turn for the worse later that night and passed on Father's Day in 2000.
