1. All of the bridges in Ohio are full so I think I better talk things out here while I wait for my turn in line.

    1. This team looked darn well pathetic. I mean, if you LOSE yards on a 4th down and inches play and your O line just gets thrown into the back field, then I think that's a lack of desire, not a lack of muscle or quickness. They just looked like they had no emotion or desire tonight.

    2. Ted Ginn Jr.-I don't think that college athletes should be made to play injured, but gee wiz it's the National Championship Game :dis: I mean Steve Slayton and Pat White played injured throughout the season for WVU and Ginn couldn't even be used as a decoy in the National Championship Game :dis:

    3. I've always said the SEC is good, but I'm not ready to crown them the kings of the universe just yet. Florida looked like they did have some holes in their team and on a better night I really think tOSU would have beaten them. But I have to give Florida (and the SEC) a hand, they really showed what they can do with a great offense playbook and a nice defense.

Things aren't really that bad though, at least tOSU is #1 in DANCE!

But somehow I don't think that 120,000 people are going to pack Ohio Stadium to watch some girl act like she's a butterfly.
  2. be real. Im an sec dude and I was backing your team. I knew of UF's team speed on defense but didnt think on offense or defense it would be so drastic.

82 total yards but you saw a few weaknesses? UF coulda put 500+ yards if it had wanted to. the build of the guys was even apparent. OSU looked TOO big on the lines and your tackles couldnt even touch their DE's. Many times they just went untouched. almost all night.

your zone defense was exposed to the speed of this team. linebackers and safeties looked like me guarding harvin and baker.

    REPEAT AFTER ME---EIGHTY TWO YARDS.

I was wrong too, so join me. You were dominated in all phases. Speed was the difference. Its almost like 1990s all over again. I never believed the disparity was this huge but it was obvious after 4 mins into the first quarter.

which is why your coach went for it on 4th and 1 from his own 30. he knew it too.
  3. Agreed
    Agreed
    Just a thought?
What is OSU's record against the SEC in bowl games?
0-8, If the SEC aint king of the Universe who is?

What does it say about your team that they couldn't take advantage of those
    holes?

    A better night?
When would a better night have been?
Let's see, you guys barely beat UM who got whipped by USC?
    Dude, get real.
Your team would've had their ass whipped by Florida any day of the week
    and probably LSU too!

I was also rooting for OSU in this one because I didn't want the Gators to win.
I didn't want them to win a championship in both sports this year plus we will
never see the end of this from their fans.

  4. Well said.
Buckeye Fan: Who are you to question your team's desire? Last time i checked you are only a fan and its the Freaking National Championship Game. Stop making excuses. They got outplayed, I will admit they had no desire in the 4th quarter when the outcome was already known. The defense was lost all night, the coaching staff did not make the appropriate adjustments. Meyer was 10 steps ahead of Tressel the whole game. You don't have a right to question the team's desire, they played tough, which is all you can ask for. If you believe they played without desire so strongly, would you have said that to the team in the locker room after the game?
  5. Tirk is right on.

In fact, a good analogy is that thing ESPN did a few weeks back crowning the all time best college team, where it pitted teams from the 50s going up against teams from the 90s. It looked like you guys were a team from 3 decades ago, who were talented but in another era.
  6. Puh-leaze this is college football not a Leonard DaVinci painting, everybody has good areas and not so good areas.

Yes, tOSU may be slow in some positions but just about every team would have given everything they had to have Troy Smith or Ted Ginn Jr. on their team (except LSU right?).

I'm willing to concede that tOSU got beat tonight, but let's not get into the argument that the Big Ten is nothing.

I seem to remember a few SEC teams that had bad days: Georgia vs. WVwhooo? Arkansas vs. Wisconisin, Tennessee vs. Penn State

So may the first one without sin cast the first stone...
  7. Remember 0-8 against the SEC in bowl games!

I will in fact say that USC should've played Florida for tonites NC.
This really hurts me to say because I hate USC and was rooting for TOSU!
This is why we need a playoff system!
  8. Yes, everyone has bad days, and your team definately had one today. But, that aside, but they were so thoroughly dominated in every aspect. Except special teams. In the first quarter.

For crying out loud, they didn't miss a field goal. For Florida, that means total domination.

Secondly, I don't care what team you are, who you're playing, anything- none of that matters when you consider the fact that you gained EIGHTY TWO yards. You wouldn't have won the game 9 times out of 10. The top tier of the SEC (of which Arkansas is not part of) has proven itself this bowl season. It has isolated itself as the most dominant conference (this year, at least).
  9. Even Corso and Herbstreit said that Florida would beat OSU 9 times out of 10 on a neutral field. They were alluding to the domination of both lines of scrimmage and the huge difference in speed.

For Herbstreit to say that the way he loves him some Big 10 says it all.
  10. Sorry, tOSU, you got your ass kicked tonight, plain and simple. You have to accept the loss in totality, not with "buts" and "ifs" and "on another night." I am sorry you got the **** kicked out of you tonight, but you did. At least you made it to NCG.

    Good luck next year.
