1. 10th consecutive home win as the mets beat the cards again tonight. i still dont see these signs of october collapse you guys are talking about.
  2. more power to you... if the Braves don't make it (which they won't), I wouldn't mind seeing the Mets win it...

maybe it'd open ownership's eyes and make them spend more
  3. congahrahts on the shweep mahtin
  4. be honest, Grad, do you think the Cards will hold off the Reds and ultimately get in the playoffs?!

it seems hard to predict with them.

  5. I have not had much faith in the pitching staff for a couple of years now. We've been winning runs because of excellent batting. Last year it worked out until the playoffs. This year it may bite us in the azz much earlier.

We'll see. It's been a rough season. Can't argue that the NL is just that good because with inter league play the better AL teams have crushed the NL teams.... so hopefully the Mets are legit and can do some damage. I don't see any other NL teams getting past them.
  6. The Dodgers can counter them in pitching, but geez, do the mets have a 100 times better lineup...

The Reds can counter in hitting, but the mets have 100 times better pitching

the cardinals can hit just as well, but the mets pitch better

good pitching beats good hitting in the playoffs, so ultimately I'd guess the Dodgers had the best chance of doing it, but I don't think that is likely.
  7. last night glavine gave up zero runs as the mets shut out the team leading the west, and the mets have the best record in baseball.
  8. anything or anyone they beat in the NL doesn't even count, but even with that said, they are still easily the best team in the NL
  9. Swept by the Pirates... :bncry:
  10. ...and still nobody in baseball has a better record.

and like i said before, any game without an injury is a victory for the mets.
