1. Shocking, isn't it that there are NO posts about the kick off of the college basketball season across the land... and at LSU??!!:nope:

We've seemed to forget that last night kicked off "Midnight Madness" across the land. Things were quiet in Tigertown. Perhaps purposely so, with a team with a lot of new faces and a need to create an identity. I hope the Tiger fans, though, will embrace a new team with some talented newcomers. It should be an exciting season with new faces and a new offensive scheme for Brady. And, let's not forget about the women... who unlike the men, return 9 seniors and a lot of pre-season expectations... :geauxtige :)

Good stuff from both coaches' media days...

As for across the country, clearly the buzz is a little louder...

Perhaps though the SEC teams are flying a little under the radar? :dis:
  2. Maybe LSU and Brady should do something special to promote his program like other schools do for midnight madness. Did they allow fans to attend?

It's gonna be hard to get any attention until football season is over, but it doesn't mean they shouldn't try.
  3. While I understand the sentiment, it sort of assumes that LSU fans can only focus on one sport at a time. For example, Kansas is 5-0 in football, but packed Allen Fieldhouse for their midnight madness... (I know, I know, but they're a "basketball school")

I understand the phenomenon, though, football is king in the Bayou. It's just a shame when you ask why players decide to sign with the likes of Kansas, UNC and Duke over the Tigers...

It's interesting to see what other "football" schools are doing to hype their basketball teams, though...

Ohio State and Florida both did not appear to have "midnight madness" events, but are choosing to hold fan based events prior to the season kicking off...

It's something that Skip and team should consider for pumping up enthusiasm for the sport and teams. Say what you want about Brady, considering we've got a hall of fame women's coach and a team that's making another run at the Final Four, you can't say that the teams don't deserve some recognition...
  4. We have a men's basketball team?
  5. What is this "Basket ball"? Another sport?:eek:ldskule:
    1 person likes this.
  6. I thought that was "Rounders". :hihi:
  7. I'm pumped up for some LSU basketball:geauxtige
  8. I never will understand. All those tall boys fighting over a ball so they can drop it in a net that is missing the bottom. Then dey run de odder way and drop in anudder net without da bottom. For what dey do dis?

sort of like golf. Dey hits dat liddle ball about a mile or so. den, if dey can find it, dey hit him again an go chase after it. den dey hit him annuder time. all over dat big pasture wit de liddle bitty holes what gots dem flags stuck in 'em. What a country.:nope:
  9. Not to pile more bad news on bad news, but to all those folks that think Midnight Madness isn't a big deal, I guess to some extent Greg Monroe has answered the question...

Is it better to go to a football game as a hoops recruit, or go to a crazy arena full of basketball fans at G-Town's midnight madness craze?

LSU loses out on Monroe (at least that's what his coach says... perhaps there's still hope?:dis: ). All's not lost in this class, but it's hard to swallow the best player in the state leaving, whatever the sport.
