I liked your story. I pictured the HS football coach and Miles in some manner of montage with The Courtship of Eddie's Father in the background.

There's only one problem with this story. Les Miles never coached high school football. He came from private business (I think a trucking company... he started right out of college). About two years out of college he begged Michigan's coach Schembechler (sp?) to allow him to come coach. At first, refused Schembechler refused but Miles was persistent and hired him as a graduate assistant. he left Michigan for Colorado returned to Michigan, went to Oklahoma State, then Dallas Cowboys and back to Oklahoma State. i may have missed a stop or so on the way but he was never a high school coach.

Not saying Murph is lying but I believe he was sold a bill of goods... another reason to stay off the sauce.

yep. his full bio is on lsusports.net. every time i hear the story of how he started coaching (which was for schembechler) it is that he was in business and took a big cut in pay to follow his heart and go into coaching. and all positions have been either in college or the pros since then.

however, i do believe his heart and soul are in this lsu team. :thumb:
