I just saw it too. Channel 2, 10 o'clock news. Geez, I really hope this guy isn't trying to slip Bill Clay in under the radar on this one.
Why would he delay announcing Slocum? Interrupt his Destin vacation? Miles says it would be a "Very Strong DC". He also said that they found some great DCs but other teams beat them to them. Sounds like the new DC is about a 3rd or 4th choice. Not encouraging.
Why is he waiting so long... he should at least announce a couple candidates... throw some meat to the hunger tiger faithful.
Logic would say if you had a blockbuster name you would announce it prior to signing day (to help). If it was a mediocre or sub par announcement you might hold it till after signing day (to avoid looking week).
