The story said Russell weighed 261 at the Manning camp two weeks ago and that he was losing weight. A teenage athlete can lose 15 pounds in a month especially if it was added from inactivity. Where did this lose 15 pounds in a week come from?
Either way, it sure would have been nice to hear, "Russell is in the best shape of his life & looks to be a heisman candidate as our starting QB." instead of, "he's out of shape". I understand that he had surgery & has time to get into shape, so I'm not that worried about it at this time... but gosh it would have been nice to hear that.
Who said he had to lose 15-20 pounds in a week. He has all summer camp to lose weight. It will only make him tougher if he has to work harder.
It was obnoxious... You really think your funny, but when the trash gets thrown back at you, you run and cry like a baby...
Before everybody gets too excited about this weight issue.... Just remember that Jamarcus Russel played last season at 248#. Even if he weighs 261# right now, that is only 13# heavier than last season and he has plenty of time to lose 10-15 pounds. Also remember that Jamarcus russel is 6'5" tall and has a pretty large frame. Getting down to and playing at 248 is not that big of a deal. By the way, someone mentioned something about Jarred Lorenzen. Lorenzen hasn't seen 260# since his Junior High School days.
STOP! The story said Russell was 261 in early July. Russell said he was losing weight at that time. WWL tried to make something out of this by fooling with the time frame.
I really don't think it's that bigga deal. Not yet. He can lose the weight in plenty of time for football. What else did Miles say? Anything interesting?
