Seems like O is the letter of the day. LSU gets rid of your Odom while OM keeps their Orgeron.....

AP......... Oxford....Three consecutive losing seasons. Three wins and 19 losses in the SEC over three years. Empty seats dotting VH stadium on Saturdays. Fans grumbling louder with each loss.

Despite those facts and that the UM football team has a 2-7 overall record and is in danger of posting its first winless SEC record since 1982m Chancellor Robert Khayat remains adamant: Ed Oregeron will be back next fall for his fourth season. "Unless something completely insane happens__ and I mean like breaking the law or something__he will be our football coach next year," Khayat said. "It's not going to have anything to do with wins or losses this season. We believe he's taking this program in the right direction."

The Rebs will be heavily favored to win Sat's home game against NW State of La., a lower-level team and Orgeron's alma mater. But the rebs will be underdogs against LSU and MSU.

And while 11 of the SEC's 12 schools remain in contention for a bowl berth, OM is the one that already knows it will be home for the holidays this year___again.

"The joke right now is that there's 12 football teams in the SEC____if you decide to count OM." David Cutcliffe was forced out after one losing season in 2004, In came Orgeron, who was NOT OM's first choice and who had NO head coaching experience.

Since "O" arrived, OM recruiting classes consistently have earned strong reviews from recruiting Web sites. In short, O believes that despite the poor record, he's only a few players from making his move in the SEC. OM AD Pete Boone agrees.

"I'm disappointed just like every OM fan is," Khayat said. "I'm uncomfortable with us losing football games. But he has come in here and kept his head up despite some major challenges. I still think he's going to develope a successful and competitive program."

RIGHT "MR HIJACK"...HIS RECORD IS 9-23 OVERALL AND 3-19 SEC......PROJECTED RECORD FOR THE END OF THIS YEAR..10-25...THAT'S REAL PROGRESS...............

I saw a cartoon once that showed two buzzards sitting on a tree limb.....the caption was "PATIENCE MY ASS...I'M READY TO KILL SOMETHING!!!!!!!!!!

    I guess that's me.

I was actually pretty surprised in Ole Miss this year. I thought they would be one of the more improved teams, maybe not win loss wise, but it is still the same.

Firing him this year might be bad anyways due to the other high profile jobs that may open. But then again watch him win six or seven games next year and get a contract extension.
