The biggest failure of Maddon's last night was his nonchalantedness of the entire situation. Letting Balfour throw all fastballs to Big Papi with 2 men on instead of bringing in Howell to snuff out any potential rally. Bringing in Wheeler in the 7th instead of Howell. Is Wheeler your closer or not? Make up your mind. You're not gonna win a WS without someone KNOWING that they are the closer for this ballclub. And the most "gross" error of all, leaving a defensive liability in right field like Gabe Gross who couldn't hit the side of a barn in this series anyway. Perez would have caught Pedroia's hit that started the entire mess. And even after seeing that, Maddon decided to leave Gross out there. Perez easily catches the smash by Drew to win the game. Learn your lesson Mr. Maddon. These are the Red Sox and this is the playoffs. They are not going away quietly. That being said, Shields has another outstanding outing at home and Beckett is not the Beckett we all have come to know. Rays win rather easily in game 6. This won't disrupt their rotation for the WS. Kazmir goes game 1, Shields gets to pitch game 2 and 6 at home. Garza goes 3 and 7.
