1. If you think Landry leaving will help LSU, I gotta question your reasoning. I see what you mean about incoming players looking for playing time, etc. But really, if a player is good and has confidence, he's not going to worry about a good player already starting in his position (especially if that player will be a senior). RP came even though everyone said Jamarcus would be the starter. It didn't stop him and JR has a few years left.

And LSU always sends plenty of talent to the pros, so players know that already. An incoming guy doesn't need to see Landry get drafted just to feel comfortable about his chances. All he has to do is watch the pros on one Sunday and LSU will stick out.

Landry is a great player and him leaving definitely wouldn't help us for next year. He's always making tackles and he's a punishing hitter. And LSU's blitz is never more effective than when they blitz Landry because he comes in untouched and fast and the QB doesn't have a chance to do anything.

On the other hand, it's definitely hard to pass up a 1st round picking if someone's assuring him of that. So I understand if he leaves. However, people mention the economics of it, etc. Here's some reasons to stay.

    1) He could get Trev Faulked! I don't mean that he would not get drafted at all. But he could go later than the first into the second or third round, and that would suck. Obviously, people told Trev he would get drafted high so he left early. Those people were wrong or full of $hitttte. He was a great player who missed out on an exciting senior year and he had to go the free agent route.

    2) He might actually go higher next year.

3)He could win another SEC Championship instead of getting punked by Georgia in Atlanta. This would lead to either a Sugar Bowl in New Orleans (which is awesome) or if they were better a NC birth.

    4) He can help his team beat Tennessee in their house and wash out that bad taste after this year's debacle.

    5) He can hang out at LSU for another year. Anybody who has attended LSU knows what I'm talking about. It's so much fun. Even Shaq (a guy who left early and is sick rich) says the best time of his life was at LSU. You just don't get that back. The pros CAN'T TOUCH THE COLLEGE EXPERIENCE AND ESPECIALLY SATURDAY NIGHTS IN TIGER STADIUM.

So, that's the other side. But still, I can understand someone leaving if everything is for sure because money is important as well. It's not everything, but it's important.
  2. This is a completely different situation. Faulk was advised by everyone to stay. I seem to recall the advisory board told him 3rd round. He just ignored them. Then when he ran those horrible times he was passed on completely.

Good for him he is a workhorse and seems like he has now earned his place on a team.
  3. Oh yeah, I know it's totally different. Obviously, somebody was telling Trev to go. And see, the advisory board told him 3rd round, and he got ZERO round. So what I'm saying is that Landry better have somebody talk directly to different teams and see if they "for sure" would take him really high. Otherwise, he gets Trev Faulked to an extent. Cause obvioulsy, the advisory board sometimes doesn't know their A-hOles from a hole in the ground.
  4. I definitely see Landry coming back for another season. He is not ready for the NFL. I don't even see Prude being drafted. Honestly, I think he has been horrible for the Tigers. I've never liked him.
  5. prude wasnt horrible for us....this year was awhole lot better especially the last few games he looked better but i agree he will sign as a free agent more than likely
  6. #33 I believe. Kid played his heart out and actually didn't have that bad of a senior year. If you will recall once the numbers from the combine came out, it was very apparent that speed was part of his problem. I believe Brady James had a faster 40 time than he did. Hats off to him he will always be a Tiger in my book !!!
  7. I talked to LaRon after the Peach Bowl, and he said that he really wants to graduate. I asked him about him going to the NFL, and that's what he told me. Hopefully he tries to graduate, because that means 1 more year in purple and gold for LaRon Landry.
  8. How is Laron not ready for the NFL? He would be a 1st or 2nd round draft pick if he came out - that pretty much implies he's ready. It would mean a lot to our defense for him to stay, but I don't hold it against any player to leave early for the 1st round.

Prude has improved a lot through this season. He might get drafted by Saban or a team willing to take a risk on him in the 7th, but more than likely he will end up being a free agent.
  9. LaRon is definitely NFL ready. As soon as I saw him play his first game against UL Monroe, I told all my friends that he was definitely going to the NFL. He's a real good player.
