The former LSU star will join his father as a deputy city marshal — in addition to that NFL gig. The younger Hester will be sworn in July 17.

Hester, 23, will not be paid, according to Marshal Charlie Caldwell Jr. He mainly will represent the agency in a new school reading program that starts this fall.

“He’s always had the law enforcement little bug in him,” Caldwell said. Hester will drop in on elementary students when he is home.
