Rewatched the MSU game last night - aren't DVRs awesome? A few thoughts.

It rained HARD a few times, at critical points, and LSU had ZERO turnovers. That's promising.

The offensive line killed more than one drive with penalties and missed blocks.

MSU will have a good defense this year and I bet (if they can fix the QB thang) they win a few SEC games.

Dixon (MSU) is a good running back.

    Matt Flynn + Doucet + Hester = :hihi: .

LSU's 1st and 2nd team Defense = :hihi: . Henig threw 6 interceptions because he sucks, but also because he was scairt. He had to get rid of the ball quickly and almost always threw into coverage. 45 of his passing yards came on a lucky pass that he barely got off and threw into very good coverage. A foot left or right and we're talking interception number 7.

More thoughts on my blog, but the more I watch the MSU game and the VT/ECU, the better I feel about Saturday.

    VT is in trouble.

LSU has stunk up some season openers in recent memory, and yes Oregon State was better than ECU and it was a rainy game, and yes Arizona State was a strange situation with the hurricanes and on the road, but season openers are tough games to judge a team.

But with that said LSU's defense is dominant. Look at last year and looking at the progress and returning starters form last year there is no doubt that this defense is dominant.

VA Tech's offense is suspect. They were suspect all last season, their returning QB threw 11 ints and 11 TDs last year, and so far this year he is 1 TD and 1 int against ECU. To me this means that VT will have to run the ball successfully to win and that is not a good game plan to beat the Tigahs.

    I like LSU 24-10
