That will be me being carted off by the men in white coats and big butterfly nets after storming the field to cop the same.

I thought they were both gonna be in the Coates Hall bathroom together?

I think Trev Alberts and Jim Rome are sharing that one, with Richard Simmons as a "surprise" guest star....

"So, like, is this some sort of song or something?"

Great. Just great. Let's see how Jessica puts her own "personal" style into our National Anthem. There used to be a time when the crowd at a sports event sang along with the anthem (as we do in Tiger Stadium when the LSU band plays it). Now you just endure it while the singer turns it into a spectacle intended strictly to focus the attention on themselves.

Several years ago at the LSU - Kentucky football game in Lexington, UK trotted out "Miss America" (former Miss Kentucky) to sing the anthem. She sang it so slowly, dramatically drawing out every syllable, that the damn thing nearly lasted five minutes, and I booed her lustily when she finished. Yes, I am "old school."

I think I'd rather see Roseanne do an encore...

I think that faternity that did the anthem during the LSU baseball games was one of the best I've heard.

I hate it when people try to put their own personal touch on the national anthem. The song was written with certain notes and has been that was for almost 200 years. There is no need for some church choir singer to change the notes.

Maybe they should just play a recording of the Jimi Hendrix version.
