Media bias in favor of the Irish? More like bias against ND. Mark May has a personal vendetta against ND, after it fired Ty. People like John Saunders, Scoop Jackson, Jason Whitlock all have a personal vendatta against ND after ND fired Ty.

And, where was this media bias in favor of the Irish last year. All the media pundits were predicting ND to go something like 0-6 or 1-5 when ND ended up losing only two games during the entire regular season and going to a BCS bowl. And, given that the coaches ranking matched the AP Poll, why would the coaches be biased in favor of ND?

And, Duke too. It is much, much easier for a school to retain its academic standards for basketball than in football. You only need two or three playmakers, and you can fill out the rest of the team with role players. But, with football, you need a staggering large number of players to fill out a team. There's less players in basketball, and so there's less pressure to find a student-athlete who can both handle the academics and the sport.

I would also want to point out with regards to that investigative journalism hit piece, Golden Dome Tarnished, that with ND's high profile, ND is always under a lot of scrutiny. Any minor misstep has been scrutinized with a fine tooth comb, and will be eventually unearthed. LSU has been a minor program for the most part, until Saban revitalized it a few years ago. LSU has always been overshadowed by the other teams in the SEC. Any improprieties hasn't been investigated to death in order to sell books. Because of ND's national stature, the Dunbar became big news. But, who else outside LSU heard about LSU's recent academic misconduct with regards to football team a few years ago.

Get a life man... No one here cares about the non sense you are posting. You are just a bitter ND fan who is upset because the team is UNDERACHIEVING and you got your ass handed to you in the bowl game. Please write the dean of ND about the academic standards because no one here gives a sh*t. Would you like some cheese with all your WHINE....

Underachieving? No, man. Thanks to Weis's coaching, ND is overachieving with the talent it has. ND has beaten the teams it should have, and loses to teams with superior talent. Historically, its been LSU that has been underachieving where their record never matched the talent it had.

Weiss is overachieving??? Give me a break.. Did you even show up to the games against USC, Michigan or LSU?? Overachieving would be winning a bowl game.. Something that hasnt been done in over a decade for ND. Charlie has them going in the right direction but they will never live up to the hype of the media unless they win the Nat Champ and that is not going to happen anytime soon.

Bitter, SHUT UP!!! Just shut up. You are embarrassing yourself and ND. OK, we got beat. We got beat bad. We got beat by the only 3 teams we've played with any muscle. Quit acting like an @SS, you're only making it worse. We don't belong on the same field with these teams, and that has become painfully obvious to me. So just get over your self.

This is probably the worst thread I have ever seen on here.

You first make excuses, then make excuses for the excuses, all the while trying to denounce LSU's athletic dept with NO factual evidence or real reason to do so, considering LSU hasn't had any discipline/academic troubles with their players since DiNardo left.

And to compare Notre Dame football's academic standards with those of the ivy league schools is completely blasphemous....Most of Notre Dame's team would get denied by Ivy League schools.

Well, all I did was google up LSU football and academic dishonesty, and I did find factual evidence. LSU admitted five secondary NCAA violations involving football players and ACSA dept; it also had to reprimand a former ACSA employee and transfer a former ACSA director. There were allegations of plagarism, and cheating. In order to avoid more punishment from the NCAA, LSU lost two scholarships and lost four recruiting visits. And, there were some other instituitional changes that makes me wonder if there was some other stuff going on.
