I beleive its been discussed previously. But anywho.. If anything, it seems to benefit LSU for the simple reason we always have a plethora (nice word, huh?) of speedsters who would love the opportunity to return kicks. With Holliday and Early doing the honors this year, and now with more opportunities to show their speed, I'm all for it. Plus, it benefits the kickers who have the ambition to try their hand (or foot) in the pros. I still think the best change was doing away with that Petarded (yes that's from Family Guy) clock system they implemented last year. Can't help but imagine if we had another couple snaps in the Auburn game... **sigh** (I'm over it, no, really, I am)

Also, if a kickoff goes out of bounds, the offense will start its drive at the 35-yard line. In addition, on kickoffs, the play clock will start once the kicker is handed the ball by the official. In the past, the kicker could take as much time as he wanted before kicking the ball. Now, he is on the clock and a violation will result in a 5-yard penalty. It will give offenses much better field position and put a lot of pressure on the D. Hope we can kick 'em out of the endzone.
I didn't read an overabundance of books after middle school and my vocabulary isn't in excess of the average person.........so, I ask, what does plethora mean, anyway. :hihi:
Before, they used to hand the kicker the ball and the kicker usually had to wait for the ref in the endzone to signal they were ready. I've seen many a kicker kick it too early. :shock: So now, the kicker can tee it up and kick it real fast (perhaps trying to catch the opponents not ready). This could lead to some interesting kick offs/onside kicks, etc. Or am I missing something hidden in this rule?
