Ive heard good things about this kid, he is from the D/FW metroplex. Apparently went to the same kicking school Jasper did..... we lost Botts to Miami and then we offered this kid and he committed immediately.

That's what I was thinking, too. His versatility may make him more attractive. You wonder if they conversed with Bott about accepting another offer before they offered this kid. The timing seems too coincidental, and there would be too many considerations to just have offered this kid immediately in response to Bott changing.
LSU has been on this kid for a while now and Botts has been looking around since 2 weeks after he committed when the staff told him Wing cleared. LSU actually helped him find another team. So really has nothing to do with Botts when it com comes to the recruiting aspect because LSU and Botts knew he wouldn't be in this class for almost a year now. Hairston is going to be mainly a kicker for LSU but could help out with punting if a need arises. He is a great combo guy and I have been kind of baffled why we haven't heard about possible kicker commits this class given we needed to take one soon. I said last year a kicker was a definite need in this class since we haven't taken a scholarship kicker since Jasper and Crutchfield in 2007. PK kicker is not out of the question either.
