Newk's Eatery

Has anyone eaten at a Newk's Restaurant? They are opening two up in Baton Rouge and they look interesting. They are currently in Gulfport and other parts of MS. I'm curious how the food is.

 

Similar to McCalister's Deli. It was started by the same guys.

 

If that's the case then I'll avoid it. McCalister's food is very bland and generic. Similar to Jason's Deli.

 

I like Jason's Deli, but I only ever get soup and salad bar when I go there. The food, itself, does tend towards bland.

 

Never tried the soup but if I have to go there I get the salad bar.

 

soup and salad is awesome at jasons deli. mcalisters kinda sucks.

 

They Have a Newks here in Mobile but it is next to a Popeyes sooooo... sigh

 

That's pretty funny. Tough to pass up popeyes for a salad or sandwich.

 

I know McCalisters is a chain, but it seems to vary tremendously by location. I dunno, maybe it is the college girl wait staff in college towns!
