1. He was a survivor, he had five sisters die of childhood diseases.
He was also a pretty good song and dance man, for a fat guy. RIP.
  2. Marlo was as evil as they come. Was hoping he would get smoked at some point.
  3. Michael (the new Omar) would have had a good shot at it.

  4. Earl Weaver, Hall of Fame manager of the 60s-70's Orioles (3 straight World Series, including back-to-back wins in '70 and '71). Every umpire's worst nightmare, he once faked a heart attack and laid down on the mound. On another occasion, he took second base off the field and refused to give it back.
  5. Brooks Robinson & Earl were two reasons to watch the Orioles. Earl hated the sacrifice bunt. He considered it giving one of twenty-seven outs up. He preferred the 3 run homer all day long.

I got to see a lot of Earls tirades with the AL umpires live on ESPN. They definitely brought a chuckle.

  6. Stan Musial passed away today. Probably the greatest NL first baseman. I was fortunate to see him play a couple of games against the Colt 45s/Astros late in his career.
