The Pac 10 pursues a tougher OOC schedule? Says who, you?

You say that with a straight face as most of your conference continues to rotate teams like BYU, San Jose State, Idaho, Idaho State, San Diego State, Northern Arizona, etc on their respective schedules every year.

So does Hawai'i, not sure what that has to do with anything.

Even our fans say our OOC schedule sucks, and it does. And though there's some truth to the canned responses to come about us being able to because we play in the SEC, it sure kept Auburn from sniffing the NC game.

Thankfully the BCS coordinator is also the SEC commissioner so they could water down that SOS thingy for us to keep our fluff in our schedule. :hihi:

Home field ad. Same reason everyone is saying "Next year is going to be rough". UF, AU on the road- surely you know that.

I took "travels more" as in travels farther. I even remember her comparing the mileage by USC vs. those traveled by LSU at one time. So, name me one team that traveld farther than Hawai'i does every year. Yet their never mentioned as having even a remotely difficult schedule.

She said that the Pac10 pursues (emboldened that even) tougher OOC schedules. Where is that from? Call it a hunch but I suspect it is much easier for a Pac One team to get these matchups than it is for SEC teams. Just look at the hassles LSU had with Va Tech making the return trip.

The BCS coordinator position rotates each year amongst the BCS conferences' commissioners.

Oh, she may have meant it as miles. I don't put a significance on distance. If you don't have to leave your State, yet you can play UM and FSU, for example, no biggie. Now, with Hawaii, a 5 hour time zone is different but I'm not sure how much of a factor it's been as far as their wins/losses at home vs. away. You're right though, their SOS isn't much to talk about.

I figured you had that ready to post though. Can we see it?

So true, we'd like to never get it but boy did they screw up with it ending up with this team. :hihi:

As far as "Pursue" I just assumed since they had "Better" OOC games they must "Pursue" them more. Gotta hand it to Georgia, like one poster pointed out, they did it right next year but I'll be surprised if it doesn't cost them a shot.

As long as we can do it and get in the NC game, it validates our scheduling practice, imo, but I still don't like the Tulane, UL games. One, I could understand.

    No arguments there!

I don't put any significance on distance traveled either. To me, bashing teams from the South for "not leaving their region" to play football is like bashing a New Yorker for not leaving Broadway to see a musical. You ain't got to go far when the best is in your backyard.

I have no idea how it affects their record. Just figured that even in all of their away games were played in the Southwest corner of California (shortest possible distance), they would still probably lead the country in miles traveled, yet their SOS was still ch!tty.

are you really than uninformed to not understand why the SEC OOC schedules have to be weaker than other conferences?

also, on the road in the sec is a lot different animal than say the pac-1 or big 1(1) in case you have failed to notice what every media talking head was forced to realize this past monday...just in case it didnt sink in 365 days prior.

your attempt at being objective often comes across as blind stupidity. sometimes you simply need to face the facts. the sec is tougher by a long shot. the last 6 of 15 national championships speak for themselves.

the rest of the conferences have the onus of proving themselves from here on out.
