Falcons just acquired Tony Gonzales for a 2010 2nd rounder.

    LaSalleAve when in doubt, mumble

pretty cheap price tag for maybe the greatest tight end to ever play the game.

Tony Gonzales for a future 2nd round pick is a hell of a deal. Would you really rather have the cry baby douche bag that stays hurt all the time that the Saints have now or a guy that always gets the job done? I realize he is at the end of his career but is still better than Suckey.

How old is Gonzalez now? Gotta be mid-30's, right? He's past his prime.

Currently, the best TE in the game is Jason Witten.

Is Witten available? Tony Gonzalez in 2008, 96 catches for 1,058 yards and 10 TD's. He sucks who would want him? He may be past his prime but would be the best TE in Saints history the first time he stepped out on to the field regardless of his age. Could you imagine Drew Breeze with legitimate receiving TE to go with the weapons he already has? It would have been a super pick up for the saints and at a steal of a deal. But they will never admit that the deal for Shockey was a horrible decision, so we're stuck with cry baby drawing big time pay while watching from the sideline.

No, but now our defense has to deal with him twice a year.
