1. Does anyone know if there is a story behind the late hit penalty ? Its uncharacteristic of him to make such a play and the play was obviously over. Seamed very odd at the time.
  2. Rudy probably had the worst game of his career on Saturday. That late hit penalty killed us and there was no excuse for it because it was waaaay after the play which was right in front of him. Then the holding call on the touchdown pass was even more of a killer. Plus, he and the rest of his O-line mates were getting beat like a drum by UGA's fast D-lineman.
  3. wasnt a late hit. bad call by refs. the whistle blew after he made contact. he was playing hard til the whistle blows---just like he's been taught since he was 7 yrs old

  4. Gotta call BS here.

He ran by the running back on the ground to hit the guy at least 3 seconds after the play was over.
  5. Do you know this for sure? If so, how? Everyone else on the field seemed to have stopped. Not that I think the refs are perfect, but that would have been a major mistake for them to not blow the whistle and mark off 15 yrds.
  6. Not total BS, because the whistle hadn't blown...at least not that you could hear on TV, as I recall. Still shouldn't have done it, but they're coached to play through to the whistle.

I actually didn't think the holding call was particularly good either, but that could have just been my vantage point. It looked like he had the guy inside the pads, but I could certainly be wrong.

No doubt he had a very bad game, as did the rest of the o-line. Sometimes you're the bug, and sometimes you're the windshield, I guess. :geauxtige
  7. totally agree....Rudy had come to a near walk before firing up again at that DB. The replay made it look even worse than it did live. Totally unneccessary and unlike a guy who's a friggin 4.0 student.
  8. It was very weird. I thought he had a brain fart.

Not only did his holding call hurt. The holding call by Whitworth was also deflating for the offensive effort. It seems like Whitworth was called for holding quite a few times this year. Is holding really part of the game, and that they just got caught, OR , they really shouldn't have. I remember in a post game interview by a LSU defenseman where he jokingly mentioned that the offensive linemen hold them all the time during practice. IF they have to hold , they have to make sure that they are good penalties!:cuss:

  9. If it was a pure frustration penalty, he could have a least got his money worth. Hell the guy he hit didn't even fall down.
  10. AS far as I remember it was a late hit LSU had already picked up the 1st down and the whistle had blown
