1. Finebaum says UH has him as first choice but wants to lock him in with high buyout. They are tired of losing good coaches to the big boys. Kiffen and Sexton are against it, obviously because Lane will want to bolt when bigger & better opportunity comes along.

    Stay tuned...
  2. Good luck selling that one UH, perverbial stepping stone...
  3. That's exactly how Lane sees it. UH is not big enough for his ego, he will want to be at the bigger programs. That's why he bolted for USC, because UT was not seen in his eyes as the top tier program. He will do the same with us but it will be nice to have him for a while.
  4. While I agree that his ego will drive him to bigger and more pre$tigious jobs (that's not a bad thing, really), that wasn't his main reason for coming back to USC. He always said it was his dream job and he always planned on coming back. The opportunity just happened earlier than he planned.

  5. Will not be nice for us for a while. How do you recruit with our recruits thinking he is itching to leave at first opportunity. Not that impressed with Kiffen as an OC anyway we need someone who wants to stay for a while just glad we have Emsminger for backup if we mistakenly hire Kiffen.

  6. I wonder how much Saban is trying to influence Sexton on this one.
  7. If we were targeting someone else, we would have him already or there would be smoke around another name. O has all his eggs in Kiffens basket. Embrace the change, we are not going to have the perfect set up because we have buffoons in charge. Let's hope for the best with what we have. SE is not going to be OC because he doesn't want to be OC.

  8. I wonder if he would take the position for what I imagine would be a pretty big pay raise.

  9. That may change things, it would for me. You think Tigernation would stay together if we payed him 2 mil and didn't even try for someone more established at that position.
