Just got word my girlfriends daughters unit has been activated. She is in MP training at Ft Leonardwood. They are going to Ft Bliss to be readied for deployment.
Thank guys. I'll tell her mom now. I tried to assure Cyndi that she will be fine lastnight. Told her Korea is wanting money and food. It's probably a bluff.
On the face of it, the crisis on the Korean peninsula looks like a prelude to war. North Korea has threatened to incinerate America with a nuclear attack, the US has hastily redeployed forces across the Pacific, and diplomats everywhere are scrambling to work out the true intentions of the secretive regime.

They will probably deploy to free an active unit to go forward, Doubt there is much to worry about, but I am sure it is quite unsettling.
The problem now is that that N Korean kid has talked himself (or his generals told him to talk himself) into a corner in which he has to do something. He has to make some kind of attack in order save face. I think that he'll actually make a small attack, on S Korea, maybe one missle or something all the while hoping like hell that the South or America retaliates only in kind. He's wondering right now if the retaliation for such an attack will be as small or an all out war. He'll do something....somewhere...but not directly against the USA.
