with a 3-4 defense, I don't think Lawson fits the bill at DE (too small at 270 lbs), unless you were thinking of him as OLB

are we back to running a 4-3? the depth chart on the Saints website shows us as a 4-3

If that's the case, then Lawson was the perfect pick as DE, and Rankins makes absolutely no sense at 6-1, 300 lbs. He'd have to move inside to DT.

I just googled the answer and it looks like we'll be running a 4-3. Not sure about this Rankins pick.

I was hoping for Lawson but I don't know much about Rankin

cbssports gave us an A grade on the pick

Dallas got the worst grade of D for drafting the running back from Ohio State (Elliot), lol

ESPN radio guys are calling Elliot pick a home run. Will take the pressure off of Romo like DeMarco Murray did... Freddy Coleman just called him the best player in the draft

I agree; Dallas just got a whole lot better, at least on offense.

I'll like it a lot more if we get a pass rush artist in the 2nd round.

Saints take Keyshawn Johnson's nephew in 2nd round, Michael Thomas, WR, Ohio State

    6'3" 212 lbs

He was my hope when our pick came up.

He is a work in progress, but his ceiling is high. He's either going to "get it" at the NFL level at excel, or he'll be a bust.

A lot of the same attributes of Colston, good hands, high points the ball, good redzone target, a little better speed than Colston (4.55 40), yards after catch potential. Needs to learn better route running.

    Deion Jones went to Atlanta.

    LSU's only pick thus far.
