1. Couldn't decide what forum to use. If anyone is interested, here goes.

AP-- Former Eupora High qb Cliff Davis is planning to walk on Ole Miss this fall after playing baseball in the Houston Astros' system the past three years.

The 6'5", 225-pounder, a pitcher in baseball, originally signed a football letter of intent with ALABAMA in 2003. But he asked for and was given a release from the Tide, then met with Ole Miss on Thursday.

"They wanted me to come back to Alabama," said Davis, who was first-team All-State in both sports. "I told them I needed a few days to think it over. I went home and thought about it, prayed about it, and said I wanted to go to Ole Miss."

Davis, 21, said he is giving college football another chance after being released by the Astros last month.:)
  2. The kid was only 3 star out of high school and hasn't played for 3 years...I'mnot worried.
  3. they're going to move him to fullback like robert lane
  4. ...as a walk-on. He has the talent to deserve a scholly somewhere.

  5. Probably does not need one. Most MLB contracts that sign kids out of high school include that the team pays for the kids college.
  6. Kind of reminds me of Matt Mauck. Might turn out to be good.
  7. I've been through Eupora. A guy I work with is from there. Nothing wrong with the place, it's closer to Miss St. than Ole Miss.

walk on at Ole Mis huh? so basicly the kid is commiting slow suicide? what a way to go. send him my condolences.
  8. I figured an Ole Miss fan would be more fired up about Brent Schaeffer than Davis?
  9. Josh Booty's coming back to play for OM? Good riddance...
  10. BS has never even been through spring practice. How can he walk in knowing the playbook, timing down pat, and ready to go? Lane might be better.....
