1. We have a different opinion of where the team is. I will admit that despite all of our team's struggles, being where we are today is pretty impressive. I felt good about our 2001 team and our 2003 team. This year I feel better than 2000, 2002, & 2004, but not quite satisfied.
  2. You got that right, Sonny. :hihi:

I was 9 years old and I remember it well.
  3. Didn't we also graduate like 15 seniors and 7 went to the pro's. Who did we beat this year that compares to thier team 1 year ago? Just asking and remember the freshman we had playing in that Georgia game. This team is playing decent ball but we haven't dominated good teams nor have we played anybody that is that good.

  4. arizona state was better than oregon state from the previous year. Fl is as good as they were last year. Vandy is much better than they were last year just to name a few. :hihi:

I understand what you are saying but I think under the circumstances this team is going to turn out to be very good
  5. We were coached by God himself last year, who cares what are record and rankings were. I would gladly go 0-11 if we could only have 1 more season with God.
  6. dont worry...he is probably just another Miles "hater" :geauxtige
  7. I think you can consider this a trasition year. They are always unpredictable when you have a first year coach.

And considering what that first year coach has been through i am pleased with where we are at.

    Good Things i See:

1.) The team is playing hard each and every week. I think Tenn just caught us at just the right time. The team was mentaly exhausted and it caught up with us in the second half of Tenn.

2.) Recruiting is going well and i think that bodes well for the future. Keep having good recruiting years. Last year Miles did well taking over and having a limited number of scholarships to give.

3.) I am impressed with the young talent we have coming up behind these seniors. We will be reloading not rebuilding next year.

4.) Alley Broussard comes back next year and he is going to be hungry.

5.) Our QB's are playing good now. Wait till next year when they have another year of experience under their belt. 3 Deep.

6.) Next year Coach Miles will have experience with this team and fans. Just having another off season getting to know his Coach's and the stability that provides.

7.) We have our same strenght coach and he is proven in offseason conditioning.

8.) I know i may be looking through LSU colored glasses but i think this program is looking strong for years to come. Does that mean more NC i dont know. But we will be in the hunt and that is all you can ask for.

I can keep going with more positives if you want.

I am getting pumped up just typing this post.

We have a lot to be thankfull for LSU fans.
  8. After the 2003 season we lost a QB, 2 WR's, 2 olinemen on offense, we lost 2 dlinemen 1 starting LB and the nickle back. Last year we lost a QB(1/2 I guess), 1 olineman. We didn't replace any of them with a freshman only but did have first time starters at LB(Kuale/Hollis) and again half the QB position. The freshem WR's did not start as Davis and Bowe took the place the Clayton and Henderson. Oliver and Wroten took the place of Chad and Hill. Wroten was a first time starter, but I sure would call him a freshmen.

That UGA game had nothing to do with freshmen, it had to do with no one on defense being able to tackle, Webster and Daniels getting beat over and over again, our oline without any freshmen not playing too well, givingi up 5 sacks and causing the QB's to scramble all day. We could not block either of their ends.

I think Auburn this year is playing at least as well as UGA was last year coming into that game, better on offense. And the performances we had vs Vandy, Troy, Ole Miss and Bama were pretty bad until the fourth quarter. We'll see if this year's team continues that trend, hopefully not. We do have one more cupcake on this year's scedule as Troy was a pretty decent team last year, especially on defense.
  9. Why is it no one cares to remember our 2001 meltdown against Ole Miss? Remember all the complaints about Saban's predictable play calling.

My comment isn't Saban vs. Miles, but how most seasons don't really feel that great until it's all said and done. Midway during the 2001 season no one would have believed LSU was going to the Sugar Bowl. Team performance seemed tepid, and it is doubtful the play level witnessed during the early season would have been sufficient to best Auburn. 9-11 forced that game to the end of the season, by which time LSU got its act together.
  10. I remember the meltdown against Ole Miss, probably will never forget it. I was as pissed as I was against Tennessee this year. But when that team got things together it got things together and we rolled. During Saban's tenure we were fair, good, fair, good, fair. Following that pattern this year should be a good one. Of course, we've had quite a few obstacles to clear this season, so having a fair to good season this year is understandable.

It is still obvious to me that we haven't gotten things together. It seemed we might have after the Vandy game, the way we finally started dominating in the fourth quarter, but that turned out to not be true.

Lsu still has time to prove itself; three conference games is still a task. If we win the bama game and dominate the ole miss and arkansas games we'll be closer to good than fair.

I'm beginning to wonder if Russell will ever get better. He hasn't been effective most of the year and hasn't shown much sign of improvement. It *MAY* be time to think of playing Flynn. When Marcus Randall Struggled in 2002 after Matt Mauck was injured many people thought it may be because of the increase in competition, but that turned out to not be true. This year, probably more than a little blame goes to the receivers as well.

I also have some doubt in Jimbo Fisher's ability as offensive coordinator. Our offense usually hasn't been our strong suit.
