    Anyone else hunting tomorrow?

I will be heading out tonight for Venice to get in two hunts tomorrow. It may not be good conditions for ducks, but it should be a great day to be outside!

I didn't go but my brothers, uncles and cousins went to our duck lease in the marshes by Leeville and all they killed was about 10 hooded mergansers and thats it, so i'm glad i went to the football game than get eat up by gnats.

We got skunked 2x's. We hunted Baptiste-Collette in Venice in the morning... bad move and will never do that again during opening weekend! It seemed like everyone went to the same spot (though maybe it was my fault for thinking the area would be open). A few people did well in the same area I was in, but nothing great. The lack of cold weather so far didn't help either. All the birds we saw were teal, not one big duck or goose. It didnt help that guides were constantly running their airboats through the pond. Afternoon was better, but whiffed and got sh!t on by the few teal that buzzed us. My dog got some good experience despite not having anything to retrieve.

This weekend should be a little better due to that front last night. However, there is a big chance of rain on Saturday.
