    Iowa's D
#10 in the NCAA in total defense (#3 in Big Ten behind Penn State and Ohio State)
#9 in the NCAA in scoring defense (#3 in Big Ten behind Penn State and Ohio St.)

And you saw what that Penn State D did to LSU, and you saw what that Ohio State D did to PAC-10 Champions Oregon...

So how shocking is it to see Iowa's D absolutely dominate GT's O... and GT's offense is the #13 scoring offense in the NCAA and the #12 total offense in the NCAA

    Halftime stats:

    Total offense
    265 -- Iowa (on pace for 530)
    31 -- GT (on pace for 62)

    Gain Per Play
    6.7 -- Iowa
    1.6 -- GT

    First Downs
    11 -- Iowa
    1 -- GT

Players to watch on Iowa D:

DE Adrian Clayborn (talked about him above)

2009 All-American LB Pat Angerer (senior) -- NFL Draft Scout projects him as the #6 ILB for 2010 Draft, currently rated the #3 overall LB in the NCAA by Rivals. This season, he had 135 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 5 passes broken up, 1 INT

LB A.J. Edds (senior) -- projected as the #10 LB for the 2010 Draft by NFL Draft Scout. This season, had 72 tackles, 4 INTs, 4 passes broken up

2009 3rd-Team All-American SS Tyler Sash (sophomore) -- rated the #3 SS for 2012 Draft by NFL Draft Scout. Currently rated the #4 overall DB in the NCAA by Rivals. This season, he had 84 tackles, 2 forced fumbles, 6 INTs (1 returned for TD), 6 passes broken up, 5.5 TFL

CB Amari Spievey (junior) -- Rated #7 CB for 2011 Draft by NFL Draft Scout and currently ranked the #14 overall DB in the NCAA by Rivals. This season: 2 INTs, 8 passes broken up.

As for GT's offense, they are the #13 scoring offense in the NCAA and the #12 total offense in the NCAA for a reason... they are led by...

RB Jonathan Dwyer (junior) -- projected as the #1 RB for 2011 Draft. 2008 ACC Player of the Year. First half: 6 yards on 3 carries.

3rd-Team All-American WR Demaryius Thomas (junior) -- rated #4 WR for 2011 Draft by NFL Draft Scout... currently ranked #7 WR in the NCAA by Rivals. First half: nothing

QB Josh Nesbitt (junior) -- rated #15 RB for 2011 Draft, currently ranked #9 QB in NCAA by Rivals. First half: 0 for 2, 0 yards, 9 yards on 13 carries (0.7).

OG Cord Howard (senior) -- rated #10 OG for 2010 Draft by NFL Draft Scout, currently rated #8 overall O-lineman in NCAA by Rivals.

What a game by Iowa's TE Tony Moeaki (5th-year senior, 6'4-250). He's rated the #4 TE for the 2010 Draft and currently ranked the #8 TE in the NCAA by Rivals.

Just caught a catch for a 23-yard gain!!! In the 1st half, he caught one for 54 yards!!!! So far, he has 85 yards receiving (#1 for Iowa so far today).

And now he dominates GT's All-American DE Derrick Morgan on a block!!! Announcers raving about it!!!! Announcers saying that Morgan "has been quiet tonight." And Morgan is rated the #1 DE for 2011 Draft by NFL Draft Scout and currently rated the #5 overall D-lineman in the NCAA by Rivals!

GT's other star on D is FS Morgan Burnett -- rated the #2 FS for 2011 Draft.
