Imo, our best weapon against the Gators this weekend is John Chavis. Since he's got hands on experience scheming for Florida games... I think with the talent that's emerging from our defensive atheletes, Chavis now has the perfect weapon to stick it to the Gators with his new LSU defense.
I think we see an even better defensive showing this weekend and show why we'll be the team to beat the rest of the year. Hell look at the Baltimore Ravens a few years back... they went to and won a super bowl with stellar defense. And with the new surege, our Offense will start to find itself and start clicking on all cylanders. I'm starting to really like where the Chavis D is going.

I'm not worried about our defense. I feel they'll keep us in it. Our offense needs to get us touches cause FG's ain't cutting it in this one.

The defense is maturing really quickly and getting better every week, their gellin' well now... I think we'll see our defense dominate pretty good, and allow our offense more time on the field allowing us to put up more points. I think we a defensive score this weekend. If Tebow plays, he won't be running much... there's going to be a lot passing from Florida allowing us more opportunities to return an INT. I see our D becoming dominate like we were in the first 4 games of the '07 season.

Yards/points Florida has racked up vs. Chavis

    2008 - 243/30
    2007 - 554/59
    2006 - 320/21
    2005 - 247/16

The amazing part of those last 4 match-ups is that Tennessee has yet to get more than 300 yards in a game vs. Urban Meyer.

Yeah, true, Lasalle... But if the offense can't find the endzone it's trouble for everybody. Our D can't get tired in the first half. The second half will be a looooong one, esp. if our O can't score 6

With absolutely no offense by UT to control the clock and help slow the Florida train down, it is amazing that he could achieve the success he has had these past few years.

The 2007 defense was bad against almost everyone, from what I remember.

He has had the most success out of anyone who has had to play Urban Meyer's Florida team every year.

I think that was his worst defense ever at Tennessee. Then turned around and statistically put them in the top 10 again the next year.

Though defensive stats mean nothing when you still lose a game 30-6, along with 6 others.

I think the difference maker from UT to LSU will be the pure athletes we have. With a much bigger talent pool he's going to see better success.
