I don't care too much about the rankings. Some of that stuff is just to sell subscriptions. I just want players that Saban and the other top teams really want. Farr fits that description.

  2. Yeh, in that sense it should be a great class. I'm still holding out hope for Perriloux.

Perrilloux has got to be watching our QB's this year and thinking that he can do better than that. Vince Young has been a hell of a lot more efficient than our QB's. If I were RP, I would be licking my chops to go to LSU. All the other pieces are in place.

I have heard tremendous things about this kid and I’m excited about his commitment.

Also, I really hope that this means we will be incorporating the tight ends more in regards to play calling and game planning. I can’t understand why we don’t use them more often, especially at a time when we need our QB’s to build some confidence (I think a more intermediate passing game would help the QB’s establish themselves and get into a rhythm). If my kid were a tight end of this caliber, I would have reservations about him playing in an offense like LSU’s where the tight ends have not been real focal points in the passing game – I imagine that Farr and his family were assured that the football will come his way if he can get onto the field and prove himself.

This kid is a real talent and I can’t wait to see him wearing purple and gold...

  5. I agree 100% with that. The qb's are the main area we need help in, who woulda thunk that at the beginning of the year with JR coming off the bench. Kinda disappointing actually.

  6. I think what Nick tells them is what he has said to the media a couple of times this year. Look at how much we threw the ball when Ro was here. We want to do that again, when we get the personnel to do it.

I feel stupid for asking, but why do we have so few scholarships available for next year? Is this about the self-imposed NCAA stuff? When does that end? That's pretty tough...

We took away 2 from ourselves. and we can only have a max of 85 on scholarship. Max holmes and harry coleman greyshirted and will be added to the 17 or incoming recruits plus Chase Pittman and Sammy Joseph.

Self imposed penalty is just for 1 year.

I think you can only have 85 total players on scholarship. We have 5 classes on the team. (Redshirts then freshman through seniors). We have been signing 25 per year for last several years. If you do that every year and everyone stays 5 years, you would have 125 players.
