1. Who here has tried it?

I have not. Listened to an interesting podcast driving to Baton Rouge yesterday on it. Amazing that a bottle that will sell for $180 on the shelf can fetch 2k or more on the black market.

They had a bar owner on that said it is ridiculously frustrating to try and get. Then when a competitor down the street gets it all of the business goes there.

He said he finally said "fuck it, if we ever get any we are making jello shots out of it"

They did and he did. He said he received death threats for pulling the stunt. Oh and the next time he got an allocation it was cut in half.

Just wondering if anyone here has actually tried it and what are your thoughts?
  2. What is it?
  3. You can go now
  4. Just kidding, it is an extremely difficult to find bourbon Pappy Van Winkle
  5. One bottle per year of Crown per year is my whiskey allocation. With the exception of 2020. I bought an extra bottle to celebrate our winning the CFB Nat Championship.

  6. How old is it? Matt Moscona would know. He is always talking about the expensive whiskey he drinks

  7. This year the bottle let me down
  8. Its small batch which is the first issue with getting it. The 2nd is its aged either 15, 20 or 23 years I believe. Like there are 3 and they are aged one of those periods of time.

They only distribute around 7 thousand cases a year compared to something like beam which is in the millions of cases.
  9. another thing is the longer it’s aged the more they lose. I read about 40% loss over 20 yrs...
