1. biggest joke to win was Gino Torretta that i remember.

rashaan salaam was another but he was pretty damn good @ CU. huge bust in the pros.

both recent nebraska guys were pretty similar yet didnt deserve it, scott frost and eric crouch.

Charles Woodson over Peyton was a farce. Woodson overrated...not the shutdown corner they try to bill him as.

Danny Wuerffel...passes so weak the wind during practices outdoors knocked them down.

    steve spurrier as well.
  2. There was that USC running back who rocked in the NFL and then sliced... :dis:
  3. I can think of a couple that nobody's mentioned who were pretty solid as pros...

    Earl Campbell and Marcus Allen
  4. Here is a link to a site providing information about The Heisman, amazing how many winners did not distinguish themselves as pros:

    http://heisman.collegesports.com/
  5. Charles Woodson has been All-Pro several times. He doesn't get the # of picks because teams don't throw it at him very much.

Ricky Williams was pretty good until he decided he'd rather sit around and smoke weed all day.

Eddie George was a great running back for the Titans/Oilers.

And Carson Palmer is starting to come around playing QB for the Bengals.

  6. he can be all pro 100 times he's still overrated. decent not great.
  7. Coaches and players make up 2/3 of the votes. If anyone would know, it would be them.

  8. thats because someone has to go for that position. Doesn't make him Deion Sanders nor a Champ Bailey. Of course I don't think Champ is as good as billed either but then again I judge everyone on Deion's younger days of coverage.
  9. What about Paul Hornung. He led the NFL in scoring from 1959-61, was a halfback and a kicker for several seasons, set an all-time record by scoring 176 points in only 12 games, won NFL MVP twice, went to the pro-bowl a couple times, NFL and college hall of famer, and he won 4 NFL championships.
  10. lsugrad, add gimp to my donations list too, since i like him for some odd reason.
