That one armed tackle on the receiver was sick. I really think this guy is going to be starting alongside Hawkins a few weeks into the season, he is extremely good even for a true freshman.

Can't wait to watch him for at least 3 seasons :)

My guess is Hawkins and Peterson as well by the time SEC play comes around.

Hawkins was pretty impressive in his debut.

I also thought Hawkins played well. And on Peterson, he was 1/2" away from a pick 6 on that one.

Peterson didn't play as much as I expected him to.

Looks like Les was giving Jai every chance to earn it. He did look better than last year, IMHO.

I agree, but wasn't it Jai that slipped & a WR was wide open at the corner of left endzone but Armanti overthrew him... I believe it was.

Wow... it's been a while since I've been to the boards. Glad to be back.

Anyway, I didn't see the second half. Did they bench Jai or something, or were they just putting in players to get experience?

Peterson made up his 10yd cushion from the time the ball was thrown to the time it got to his hands on the hash mark. That was impresssive, and so was his early recognition when he saw the slot guy start to slide out (not to mention he beat his guy's block and made a 1 armed tackle).
