So Pittman is applying for another year of eligibility and it will likely be granted. So this means that Pittman has a decent shot at claiming a third national championship ring. That would be incredible. I did a little research and could not find another player in modern college football history that can make the same claim. If you consider Nebraska's 3 year National Title run in 1994, 1995, and 1997 then there are a lot of players with 3 rings but they split in 97. Scary thing is, they weren't too far away from winning it all in 1993 and 1996, then you would have seen the all-time greatest run in CFB.
