I never heard of the Redbox Bowl. All these new bowls and name changes every year.

Tho in this case it's a fairly recent creation;

The Redbox Bowl has been played since 2002,.. last year known as the Foster Farms Bowl, before that the Kraft Fight Hunger Bowl, the Emerald Bowl, the Diamond Walnut San Francisco Bowl

From 2002 to 2013, the game was played at AT&T Park, home of the San Francisco Giants,.. starting in 2014, at the home of the 49ers, in Santa Clara

vs Michigan St is a good matchup, but I would have preferred the Holiday Bowl.
