    It's the same problem we've had for years. The grass simply doesn't want to grow on that field ever since it was redone in the late 90s. The grass is thin and comes up very easily when they run on it, thus the slipping and large clumps of grass/dirt. By this time in the season, it's mostly painted dirt which doesn't help with the footing either.

    Hope the new field solves this problem...

    The paper said that LSU had brought in someone who is supposed to be the nation's expert on sports playing fields. The call him the "Marquis de Sod" and they said he was out there with airboat fans blowing dead grass off the field before painting it. Apparently the AD is concerned that between the Tuane game, the Saints game and the Tigers regular schedule, the Tiger Stadium turf is going to take a beating.

    Skip, never to leave a dollar on the table, included language about resodding the field, at the Saints expense, fo course, in the contractual arrangements.
