how did LSU almost lose to Washington? Are the trolls really that stupid! they scored on one of the last plays of the game, to make it an 8 point game. im going to fly down, and the next person that says we barely won that game, im going to kick him in the nuts!:angryfire

Robidoux87 You call that a double?

It depends on your definition of "almost lost." I was there, and it took an LSU touchdown with about 2:00 to go to put the game out of reach. If we had not scored on that possession, Washington would have had the ball with a chance to tie against our lame zone-prevent defense.

They outgained and generally outplayed us. But they also did some things that below-average teams tend to do -- throw a pick six, fumble while inside the opponent's 10 and miss FGs.

I think the word "escaped" applies here.

Watch the game again and you will witness a Washington team that pretty much gift wrapped a victory for us. If that game had been played the week they played USC, LSU would have lost. They handled us in the trenches. The game was in the balance until deep into the 4th quarter, as grad alluded to.

So maybe we'll kick you in your nuts.

I don't know for sure, but I suspect that LSU would not have played the same "lame zone-prevent" defense if LSU hadn't scored that touchdown.

I think you're being purposefully gloomy because that's your mood so far this season :)nope:), and I disagree that the game was gift wrapped (LSU made mistakes as well that could've changed the face of the game).

Having said that, even if you were right, I have no problem with winning a tough game that we underperformed in against a resurgent PAC-10 program with a significant football history.

We all need to accept the reality that this is probably (I think almost certainly) going to be a "win-is-a-win", nail biter of a season. Having accepted that, I'm actually looking forward to some close games.

This team could have a 1 loss season or a 4 loss season and I wouldn't be surprised by either - it's gonna be that kind of year.

I watched and never once had the feeling or uttered the words "we could lose this game". It's all about attitude, I guess.

    Nah, just keeping it real.

Washington is much better than what a lot thought going into that game. I definitely underestimated them. And I believe that LSU performed adequately, knowing what we know now.

yeah that's what matt moscona on the radio said the day after the game and i agreed, i never felt in danger of losing the game no matter how bad we looked i'd thought we'd pull it out in the 4th.

and i'm a guy who's pretty nervous and pessimistic when watching a game.
