    I see your point.
The traffic was horrible when I was in BR in October and I did give that a thought but hadn't really considered it totally.
I didn't realize it was that bad but it makes total sense.

I think the city of BR has its work cut out for them fixing its traffic issues.

    Gradden99,
I respect your opinion also but in reality I just don't see how LSU can suspend their season for very long.
Tulane and the Saints will be playing soon and life will go on somewhat.
Every other SEC team will be playing.

Any ideas how long they could actually suspend it or how long it would
take to fix some traffic issues?

I just don't see in reality, how they can suspend the season for very long?
Do you know what I mean? ;)

    Crip,
My mother has 3 cousins that live in the NO area, one in Metairie.
I have family all over Louisiana.
I do have compassion for everyone that lost everything including loved ones.
Don't take this personnal, i would never flame you or give you negative points.

Again don't take this personnal but like other tragedies including Sept 11 life at
some point has to go on, its a fact of life.
Like I said everyone else is playing ball in the USA including Tulane and the Saints.
That is a testament that life has to go on and does at some point.

I'm very sorry for everyone involved, its horrible and unbearable.
My cousin Wendy Johnson works at the Nuclear Power plant at LaPlace and
we haven't heard from her yet!

Like I said, time will tell... a LOT has to happen over the next week in order for a football game to be viable here in BR next weekend. It's just a matter of how quickly those needed things happen.

For what it's worth, I personally think that somehow, someway, those needed things WILL happen in time for there to be a game. I am simply trying to convey to those of you outside the city what things are like here now and how farfetched it is to simply say on a whim that life must go on.

I understand the fact that life most go on I really do, but Tulane isnt playing at Home the Saints aint playing at HOME. I am not saying that LSU should not play by all means please play just not at home NOT YET.

You can not compare this to 9/11 because the Towers where not peoples homes. And we were attacked by a force that we needed to stand up against.
Who are we proving to that we can survive that life can go on?

And with 9/11 like i said before there where
    Thousands dead and miilions worried
    Katrina
Thousands Dead and millions without homes and refugees away from their home state.

If you were one of the season ticket holders that has just lost their home and were stuck in a hotel in Austin. How would it make you feel to realize that an LSU game that you should be at was being played at home? How would that make you feel added on with everything else.

I just got off the phone with my best friend (lives in Baton Rouge) and I know where you're coming from LSUGradin99. Really I do.

The reality of both of our views (obviously we're sort of on opposite ends on this--and that's ok) is that we'll get a better idea of the situation by next week. Who knows? By next Wednesday, things might not be so much of a mess? Maybe it's a case in which you leave your house at 6am and instead of arriving at Tiger Stadium at 7am, you get there at 10am. So we might miss out on some tailgating? I don't know..... I can just only hope that it's not as bad as what you're all going thru right now.

    Crip,
I understand what your saying, I don't really know the answer.
What a mess everything is, sadly the feds along with the state could've
prevented this sometime the last 40 years.
that should be a crime! :dis: :dis:

I was listening to Buddy Songy a few days ago and he was talking about LSU season tickets living in the New Orleans area. He didn't know an exact number of how many people are SS holders, but he said a "chunk" of people. It really sucks to say, but I don't think any game this season will have over from 80,000 people. Hopefully I'm wrong.
