Fox News just reported that a Virgin Atlantic flight from London to NYC squawked the hijacking code on its transponder and now is being escorted to Canada. Apparently the pilot reported everything was ok and that it was a mistake, but they scrambled fighter jets anyway to escort it. At least we know that the proper precautions have been taken. They don't really know much else right now, but I just thought this was interesting.
You know what's really interesting is that we haven't had another terror alert since the two we had the week after the Democratic National Convention last year. No "intercepted chatter", no terror warnings. . .
