1. With a few ranked teams ahead of us playing other ranked teams, a win tonight vs Vandy, coupled by a few breaks in our favor in other games today can definately land us back in the top 10.

    #10 Cal plays #20 UCLA

As much as I respect the job Tedford has done at Cal, I'm really pulling for UCLA today. UCLA has the potential....but whether they consistantly realize their potential is the main worry.

#6 Ohio State vs #16 Penn State

First major test for Paterno's Fab Freshmen. It's in Happy Valley, so that's a plus. But it's also Ohio State and though they're not normally a team that wins big, I think PSU won't be able to match up talent-wise for 4 full quarters. As much as I would obviously like to see everyone ranked ahead of us lose today, I think OSU is just too strong for PSU--especially this season, no matter how well the Penn State Freshmen have been playing. I hope I'm wrong though.

    #5 UGA vs #8 Tenn

Since we don't play UGA this season (unless we win the West and UGA wins the East), I'm tempted to pull hard for the Vols in this one. The "BCS rule" has always been that you want every opponent you play to win as many games as they can after they play you. It really helps the SOS rating.

Of these 3 games, I don't really expect PSU to have much chance of beating OSU but I think the other two games are well within reason that the lower ranked team can pull off a win--especially UCLA. The Vols may be in trouble because Claussen is battling through various nagging injuries (sore shoulder, ankle injury and a thigh bruse). Oddly to say this, but if Claussen can't complete the game, or gets knocked out due to injury, Tennessee's chances of beating UGA go down.

ULTIMATELY, this thread is all for NOT if we can't beat Vandy. And since the 'Dores lost last week to MTSU of all teams, we may have to at least cover the 15-point spread in order to make more than a 1-2 spot jump in the polls should some of the teams ahead of us lose.

    GEAUX TIGERS!
  2. what about vt and marshall? there tied at 7 right now late in the first half.

Anything can happen... all we can do is guess and watch

  7. They did .... until their dumbazz QB decided he had the arm strength th force one into double coverage over the middle. Crap ........ that "last-play-of-the-game" TD by UCLA covered the spread and I got stuck holding Cal and one-and-a-half. Crap! :po:

I was having the perfect day until then. Went 3-1 but it should've been 4-0. :dis:
  8. Outch!
