1. Why were we wearing purple jerseys this past weekend?

I don't remember the last time I've seen purple jerseys at home.
  2. We sometimes wear purple for non-conference and\or non-televised games. Not sure if there is any rhyme or reason to it, or if they just flip a coin for these games. I'm guessing the last time we wore purple at home would have been Tulane last year.
  3. We wore purple jerseys last year against Fresno St. if am not mistaken. We generally wear them for non conference games.
  4. Yes we did.
  5. How about last year? The Tigers started wearing purple at home for one or two non-conference games each season for six or seven years now. Nick started doing it because people were starting to consider purple jerseys a jinx or something and he wanted to put an end to that. LSU prefers white but will wear purple when we want to. It keeps opponents from thinking they can force us to wear purple at their place to jinx us.

And the players like the purple now and then.
  6. The general rule (there have been exceptions), is this:
    • White for all home SEC contests
    • White for 1st non-conference home game
    • Purple for the rest of non-conference home games
  7. correct but only is it's the 1st game of the year (and it usually is, i don't remember the last time we opened a year with a conf. opponent at home)

basically, you'll see the tigers wear purple again against La Tech and if the rumors are true against tulane.
  8. But, yet, Moo U tried to anyway, and we know where it got them.
  9. Va Tech was 1st OOC home game of year. We wore white.
  10. It was a TV game. LSu prefers white for TV. Purple is for the ULLs and Louisiana Techs of the world. Not a hope in hell of TV coverage.
