I do not know if anybody knows this but I am sure somebody will find it.

Has a team ever been undeafeated, ranked higher than their opponent, and playing a home game and not been favored?

After thinking about that I really find it bizzare. I sure hope Va tech was favored or I am going to feel stupid pretty quick.

I'm sure the TCU's and Boise States of the world have experienced it many times. Don't know if it has ever happened in a major conference game though.

Surely you aren't talking about the point spread, are you?

As member of Tidefans.com, we don't (well most of us) bait him for picking against us. The numbers and skill positions tell me that tomorrow will be an LSU win, but there are all sorts of intangibles and Lord knows we are capable of winning.

A point spread doesn't indicate who is favored over another. It is adjusted on a daily basis so that the bookmaker can at least break even.

If a lot of people are betting on one team they'll adjust to spread to make the other team look more attractive...

Example. Team A is favored by 7 over Team B. People think, A will beat B by at least 10. So, they'll make the spread 11 so those that think B can stay within 11 of A will bet on the game. It's money...not about what team will win or lose.

    Uh...cough, cough. Tidefans.com can't ban me...unless I ban myself.

    Thanks for the kind words.

Deep down to I think LSU will win? In the thread "2 days till Bama" I broke down the game on an empirical basis...but there is so much that can't be judged by just the numbers, talent, depth, etc. alone.

So, so many variables. As example, did you know that Dave Rader, our OC, spent quite a bit of time consulting Miles when he was coaching at OSU? So, we've got some insight on the game plan and Miles thinking if he decides to throw something at us Fisher might not.

I won't be shocked if LSU wins...and I won't be disappointed when I look back at this season if this team drops the next two. Considering last season, the past few years...these guys have accomplished a lot this year and I'm proud of them.

I won't be shocked if Bama pulls it out either.

The point spread is as close as it is right now because you have just about as many people betting on Alabama as you do LSU. When you look around at the national media scene it's about split 50/50 also.

Either way, it's going to be a fun game to watch...win or lose, it won't diminish the pride I have in this years team.

It then, by definition, means that most people think LSU will win. And they are willing to put money on that. That to me means that LSU is "favored." Not sure what your definition is.

I'll take having the other guys favored all day long as long as WE go home with another shiney "W". ;)

Last spread I saw was 2.5 and that was Monday I believe. That close means the betting is pretty even right now.
