  1. I was driving through Dallas the other day and heard this story on the radio and thought it should stir up some pretty good debate here.

If any of you are in or have been in the service industry I'd bet you would have some valid input. If you don't want to open the link here is the story.

Bartender at a popular happy hour spot trying to keep up with who is who for tabs and he puts on one tab "5 black guys" because, well, there was a group of 5 black guys at the bar and they were all together. Well when the guy got his receipt he was upset. The waiter/barkeep was new to the area and new to the country. Does that matter?

  2. If he's white he's probably a card carrying member of the KKK, all white people are. If he's black he could have put 5 "N words" and it would be ok. If it does turn out that he's white let's burn this bitch down.
  3. I think he is a foreigner
  4. Deport him.
  5. He should have called them Canadians. People in the service industry use that as a euphremism for black. Such as "Please don't seat those Canadians at my table. Canadians don't tip."

  6. Then he should have put "cinco chicos negros".
  7. No. Even if he wasn't FOB, I wouldn't consider it racist. Description is completely different than treating someone as lesser.

  8. If a black guy came in with a white woman he could put Blanco y Negro
  9. Well I see you jolly jokers just can't take anything serious. This guy got fired
  10. Great, now we can't use the B word either. Someone needs to publish a public service pamplet letting white people know what words they can use.
