That has already occurred, Red, but you seem to have missed the point completely ...... or were you unaware that Smith was ineligible for their bowl game?

not making excuses but we don't know the whole story.

When I played, even on the high school level, I never questioned anything a coach told me to do. Looking back some of those things were less than morally upstanding, but it's pretty tough to rise up against the guys that have your entire future in the palm of your hands, not to mention the possibility to cut you out of the lives of all of your friends (as they eventually did) and turn you into a nothing from someone that's looked up to.

Again, not making excuses, but unless we know he went out on his own and made that play, I tend to be skeptical that TT didn't have anything to do with that.

As I remember he was getting his butt handed to him up front for most of the night, so it may well have been his own initiative, but I put nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing, past two coaches: Urban Meyer and Tommy Tuberville. And TT's attitude afterward about disciplining him in the post-game press conference also made me pretty suspicious.

It's obvious from the abundance of video out there that he meant to take a cheap shot at Dorsey. However, I don't think he was out to intentionally ruin Dorsey's football career. And for that I can't take joy in the problems Ramsey's been having.

Actually, this was clearly stated in the article. It wasn't stated what the cause was, but both sides were presented.

I hear you, but doesn't a college coach (presumably an adult and a professional) also have a responsibility to try to get in touch with the students (presumably less of an adult and by definition an amateur) he coaches if the student disappears. I'm not putting all the blame on the coach(es) but they've got to take some of the responsibility if they didn't try to get in touch with this kid.

It just sounds like a bad situation all the way around.
