I just enabled it. It allows everyone to have input on everyone else's general reputation around the forum. How long you've been a member, the number of posts you have and your own reputation affect your power to rate people. I'm just learning about it myself so I'll post more later when I know more. We may or may not keep it. I'll just see how it goes.
Uh, Oh .......... The spelling police are coming .......... Martin and the rest better start running now :hihi:
Why so sad Andrew? I'm not familiar with this feature but I'm guessing some of you are. What are some of your opinions on it?
The reputation pointsare supposed to be there for people to vote on whether they agree that you had a good post or not. The more good rep points you get the higher your rep is. People who have a high rep will get more of those little boxes next to their post number. In the end this just becomes a big hassle and not really worth it. It ends up being a problem when someone gets a negatvie rep point by someone who just doesn't like them. The board is running great, I don't see the need for it.:thumb:
That was my first reaction too. But after a little experimenting I found: 1. You cannot vote on the same post more than once, so that would keep someone with a grudge from just piling it on someone. 2. You cannot vote on different threads by the same person without "spreading the rep around some" to other people Lets just play with it a while before deciding anything.
