Even though he isnt a Tiger , you must admit he is the best coach ever. Im very stricken to hear about his passing.

    RIP Joe

Great coach, but I can't help but think his legacy has been permanently tarnished.

    RIP Joe Paterno.

What a horribly sad conclusion to a phucking nightmare.

I wish he'd died a year ago,. as a legend, spared from the shame.

    RIP Joe Pa

I really hope it isnt tarnished. In all honesty he doesnt deserve it.

this. after falling from grace for being part of a cover-up of molestation/rape of little boys, it kinda puts the "1" of 13-1 into perspective. all of the good the man did will always have an asterisk by it.

It's a sad sad day for college football fans. A great coach and great man despite what has come out about things that went on at PSU.

And sadly that is forgotten with all the attention focused on the Sandusky scandal.

I don't know what his graduation rate was over the years, but it certainly had to rank near the top of major college football programs. I also heard this morning that he donated over 4 million to charities. As evidenced by his modest house, he didn't make a hell of a lot of money throughout his career.

and so the legendary saga ends...he died right after his last season as coach, just like his old nemesis, the Bear:

Joe Pa - died Jan 22
the Bear - died Jan 26
